Born on June 21, 1958, in Dampar, Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State, Hon. Ayuba Aboki Zaku is not just a politician—he is a prince. His father, Zaku, was the King of Dampar, making him a royal son of the land.


Recognizing his influence and leadership, he was also honored with the title "Mararrafan Duk Duniya", which translates to "A Jukun Leader for All, Globally." 


This reflects his wide-reaching leadership and the respect he commands among the Jukun people and beyond.


Hon. Zaku completed his primary and secondary education in Taraba, earning his West African Secondary School Leaving Certificate (WASSCE) before advancing his academic journey.


With a thirst for knowledge, he obtained multiple degrees:


  • BSc

  • Diploma

  • Master’s (MSc)

  • PhD


Notably, he pursued higher education at a top university in the United States, gaining a global perspective that would later shape his leadership approach.


Hon. Ayuba Zaku - Professional Career

  • Director, Taraba Yam Flour Industries Limited

  • Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment

  • Secretary to the Taraba State Government (March 2007 – May 2007)

Hon. Zaku is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and currently serves as the representative for Ibi/Wukari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. His political journey includes:

  • Winning the 2023 House of Representatives election with 25,949 votes, defeating:

    • Agbu Mathias Luka (SDP) – 18,202 votes
