Simon Taki Zaku here! Today, I am filled with immense pride as I celebrate a monumental achievement by none other than Elder Fred Taki Zaku.
Let me take you on a journey through the incredible life and career of a man who has not only shaped my life but also left an indelible mark on Taraba State and beyond.
Elder Fred Taki Zaku: A Lifetime of Service and Dedication
Born on March 12, in Dampar, my very own vibrant village in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State, Nigeria, Elder Fred Taki Zaku began his life of service early.
Mr Taki is an alumnus of L.E.A. Primary School, Dampar, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1975.
From there, his academic journey led him to Marmara Government Secondary School, Wukari, where he earned his GCE in 1981.
He later attended the College of Preliminary Studies, Yola, obtaining his IJMB in 1983, before completing a B.Sc. in Sociology from the University of Jos in 1987.
Quite determined right? Mr Fred Zaku's incredible Journey and career had just begun.
A Storied Career - Mr Fred Taki Zaku
Fred Taki Zaku’s professional journey began on April 21, 1989, and spanned several decades, marked by unwavering commitment and excellence.
He served in various capacities, including:
Chief Admin Officer at the SSG’s Office, Jalingo, Taraba state.
Assistant Director of Admin/Secretary at Taraba State Action Committee on AIDS (SACA).
Director of Administration at the Ministry of Education, Taraba state.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (2019–2022).
Retired (2022)
Appointment as a Board Member of the Taraba State Planning Commission by His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas.
Through these roles, he demonstrated exceptional leadership, integrity, and a passion for service that earned him commendations and accolades, including recognition as the Best Behaved Corps Member during his National Youth Service Corps year.

A Family’s Pride - from a Proud Son!
If I am to write about lessons I have learned directly and indirectly from my Father, this page would not be enough. But in short, he is disciplined, well-respected, and very friendly.
Asides the pride of being his son, he has earned my utmost respect career wise.
While I still can, Dad, just know I am super super proud of you and are my real mentor, legend, and hero.
As a husband to Mrs. Christie S. Zaku and father to three children, Elder Fred Taki Zaku has been a pillar of strength and inspiration. His values of integrity, resilience, and empathy resonate in his personal and professional endeavors.
He always ensures his (I mean our) home is a haven of love, discipline, and unwavering faith in the transformative power of education and community service.

This appointment as a Board Member of the Taraba State Planning Commission is a well-deserved recognition of his lifelong dedication to the progress and development of our beloved state.
As a board member, we Tarabans have faith in Mr. Taki Zaku to play a pivotal role in shaping the state's strategic vision and policies, ensuring that Taraba continues on its path to growth and prosperity.
